The 3rd "1"

On Sunday, March 20th, we had Drew's 3rd and final 1st birthday celebration.  The company was great and the weather was absolutely perfect!

I'm sure you all are just dying to know how he did with his cake.... Well, he seemed to actually enjoy it this time, but just for a few minutes, therefore, no icing-covered birthday-boy face :(   I know I should be happy that he doesn't like cake, but I'm not!   Maybe (hopefully) next year!

Drew's SECOND 1st Birthday Party

Drew's party was the final event of a very eventful weekend.  Not only was it D's birthday weekend but also Chad's cousin Sarah's wedding weekend.  We had the rehearsal dinner on Friday night, bridesmaid's brunch Saturday afternoon, the wedding Saturday night, and finally Drew's and his cousin Porter's birthday party at Jammie and Paps' on Sunday. WHEW!  It really was a great weekend.  The wedding was a blast and the boys had fun at their party.  NO, Drew did not tear into his cake like I was hoping for, but Porter sure did, so at least I got to see him make a mess!  My plan for the 3rd (and final) party?  Well, if Drew is anything like his mom (and Paps) I'm thinking chocolate icing might do the trick!

Abbey and Mollye... I love how much they love him!

Lastly, here's  the video of us singing to the boys and of Drew and Porter eating their cakes...

Happy Mardi Gras!

Well, Mardi Gras was SLIGHTLY more low key this year, to say the least.  On Mardi Gras day we met up with our good friends Billy, Kelly, and little Beau Brian for the Covington parade.  Just as I suspected, my nosy little man was totally intrigued by the floats, fire trucks, marching bands, dancers, and, of course, the beads and stuffed animals.

Drew's FIRST 1st Birthday Celebration

Finally... I've started a blog! What sold me on blogging was the idea of a "blog book". I was reading my friend Brittney's blog and she mentioned how she was printing out her 2010 blog book, and I thought that would be such a wonderful thing to have. Like a very detailed scrapbook, without all the "scrapbooking". So here I am, blogging.

My first post is about Drew's FIRST 1st Birthday celebration. Yes, Drew is having THREE 1st birthday parties! The first one (and the only one so far) was a joint celebration with his dad, on Chad's 31st birthday. My Nana (Drew's Gran Gran) was visiting from England so I really wanted to do a little birthday celebration while she was here. First, we went for a boat ride (Drew is not a fan of the life jacket, so I don't think he will be boating often this year), then we had taco's for dinner (one of Chad's favorite meals), followed by cupcakes, and finally he opened his present from Gran Gran and Aunty Wendy.

Well, Drew wanted absolutely nothing to do with his cupcake (probably because he just finished eating dinner) and I must say I was disappointed. I was so looking forward to him being covered from head to toe in icing. Oh well, for his next party I know to give him his cake on an empty stomach ;)

But he was crazy about his present. He thoroughly enjoyed watching Gran Gran tear the paper - he was belly laughing with every rip - and he loved the actual gift even more (a musical table).

Now it's time for the pictures!...
